About the platform
The Community Hub
Humanitarian workers carry the weight of some of the world's most difficult realities. Too often, they do so without adequate support, and when support exists, it rarely reaches everyone equally. The Protect Humanitarians Community Hub was built to change that.
It is the online home of the Protect Humanitarians Community of Practice (CoP): a collaborative, practitioner-led space rooted in Wenger's model of Communities of Practice, bringing together field practitioners, researchers, organisational leaders, and people with lived experience.

A humanitarian sector where all personnel, regardless of nationality, organisational affiliation, contract type, or location, have equitable access to comprehensive staff care and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS).
Our Mission
To unite the humanitarian sector in raising standards for Duty of Care, with particular focus on the challenges faced by national staff and local NGOs and CSOs.
Whether you are a staff care practitioner, an organisational leader, a mental health provider, or a humanitarian worker seeking support, the Hub offers a trusted space to learn, connect, and contribute.

About Protect Humanitarians
Protect Humanitarians is an independent organisation dedicated to protecting, supporting, and advocating for humanitarian personnel worldwide.
We provide access to Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) and legal assistance through a network of specialised partners. Through advocacy and awareness-raising initiatives, we work to strengthen the protection of humanitarian workers and support the release of those who are arbitrarily detained.
At the heart of our work is a commitment to ensuring that humanitarian personnel receive the support, recognition, and protection they deserve.
We also facilitate the Global Humanitarian Survivor Network, a survivor-led community where humanitarian workers and families affected by harm or loss can connect, access peer support, and help shape advocacy, policies, and protection efforts across the humanitarian sector.
In parallel, we contribute to advancing evidence-based protection practices through academic research led by our International Chair, hosted by the University of Liège.
